Hi everyone, welcome to my girls Maxine and Gemma.The girls are getting ready to do the Race for Life today at Waddington air field at the top end of Lincoln. Gemma painted herself with neon colours on her face and arms, and when Maxine arrived Gemma did the same to her, they then got dressed for the occasion.

The final results don't they look fab. They where starting their run about 10.30 s0 as I am writing this they are doing it.

Both my girls are doing this for me because I had Breast Cancer in 2002, news flash just had a call from Gemma they have completed the 1st k, and its very hot, lots of people have dressed up so its fun all the way.

I am so proud of them both

This shall be my last post for a while because I am away on holiday this next Tuesday for 2 weeks with Maxine and family really looking forward to it. The case is packed got the sun lotion and the passports, here comes the sun x.

Well my lovely friends out there in Blogg Land Paradise, I have some exciting news to share with you all. Are we ready!!!!At last I can escape B & Q, I have been there 4 years now, and I have had so much time off with my disability through all the heavy lifting that I have to do,(but they have been brill with me) so on doctors orders I have landed myself a new job just down the road from my house working in the local newsagents part time.

I will be able to walk to work so that will build up the legs, and the exercise will do me good.

I shall be starting when I come back from my holiday which is next week, so I should come back nice and refreshed!!!! and ready to go. refreshed not sure about that cause we have the grand kiddies with us and Ben plans to be swimming all the time!!!

So that is 2 brilliant things that is happening to me this month, so I am on cloud nine at the moment.

Time flies past

My goodness where does the time go, it certainly disappears for me, don't seem 5 mins ago since I was on site.

Up here Mr J and Max, Mark, Ben and Paige oh and me are now on count down to our hol which is in 2 weeks time, come this Tuesday. Got the clothes, sun cream and first aid bag all ready, suitcase's to get down and pack. Then sort out some crafts to take with me ready for when I shall babysit for the kiddies.

Gemma is dog and house sitting for us (3 dogs) she is good, she will be busy doing her last essay ready for the end of her course, its only 6000 words where do you start, that's the question????

Here is a picture of one of my favourite flowers, Orchids, I have currently 5 in the kitchen, 3 of them are what I rescued from work and they are starting to get their flower stems on don't know what colour they will be. That's the beauty of rescuing them, discovering what they are going to be like.

I love this time of the year when things are all in bloom, plenty of blossom around things looks and smell lovely to. Specially after a good rain pour, which we had today, clears the air. The fields all look lovely with their different shades of green and the yellow of the Rape, which has a very strong smell this year or my nose is sensitive. Its the feel good factor.

Well what has been happening up here in Lincolnshire. Ben had a lovely birthday with loads of pressie's and birthday money, he had a fun day as did all of us, plenty of food and a bouncy castle, face painting, the kiddies where shattered at the end.

Me well I am not very good, those's that know me will understand when I say PAIN plenty of it, in fact its so bad I am off work at the moment, back to the docs tomorrow and find out the verdict if I am going back. I can honestly say that B & Q is killing me, I have a spinal disability and all the heavy lifting that I do has not helped. Anyways we shall see.

This past Monday I went to my local newsagents as the owner is after some more help in his shop and wants a mature person, I think I fit the bill being 52yrs lol. So fingers crossed that I will be lucky, more on that at a later date.

Well in four weeks I shall be in Turkey, Side is the place we are going to, it shall be Dave (the hubby), Mark (son in law), Maxine (daughter), Ben and Paige (grandchildren) and Me, yippee cant wait, 2 weeks of sun and relaxing just what we all need.

I have been to another beading class photos to follow, I do find it all relaxing doing beading and Goldwork. I have arranged to have a tutor over on the 19th May for a day's crafting, we are going to be doing Cornucopia, I don't know much about it so when the lesson is done and the work finished I shall post pictures and a description.

Well my friends here in the world of blog, it has been a busy week for me.

Firstly it has been my daughter's 31st birthday last Wednesday, and she was spoilt again, Maxine wanted a Pandora Bracelet for her day so Gemma and I got her a charme each, that left her hubby Mark and the nippers to get the bracelet which they did, needless to say she was over the moon.

And today Ben my little man had his 6th birthday party. He had 25 friends to the hall that his mummy and daddy hired for him, along with a bouncy castle, which was neat according to him, there was also face painting, the kids thought it was great, just hope the parents have a peacful nite cause they where all shattered.

Tomorrow (Monday) I shall be have Ben and Paige for the day, so after the gas man has been we are going to see my friend Tara and her kiddies, who love Ben to bits, I am also going to show Megan how to finish the bracelet that I have been teaching her to make. We will all have lunch then maybe go to play zone so the kids can let off steam before they go back to school Tuesday.

Today it has been really warm and sunny and do you know what it makes everyone smile and be happy which is what is needed after the winter, hopefully it shall carry on.

Well what can I say, I have been duped by my oldest friends, Rosie P, Kissed by and Angle and Kelly's Recipe's for life.

I have been following them all since Kelly set me up and did not know it was her aunt and mum, we have known each other since meeting in Italy, they where being nosy at our Conway Cruiser, so I said come in and have a look, and as they say that was that, we have been friends since.

In fact January as I call her cut short their holiday and travelled up to Bielefeld in Germany where i lived with my lot and came to stay, this is how much I trusted them, I gave them the keys to my house and my daughters whilst I was at work. Ours is a friendship that is always there, and even though we don't see a great deal of each other, we pick up where we left off, to me they are friends for life.

So to Kissed by and Angle, Kelly's Recipe's for Life and Rosie P, I just want to say a big huge thank you for your love and friendship xxxxxx

Caft Group

Good evening everyone, welcome to a new day and I hope this finds you all well.

This bunch of ladies are the Morton Craft Group, we are all self help who have a passion for crafts. The lady in the middle at the back is Mary and the lady at the right end is Jackie I have known them now for over 10 years we used to do bobbin lace together until the group broke up so Mary and Jackie decided to make the self help group. We meet on a Wednesday afternoon for 2 hours, pass knowledge on to each other and generally have a fun afternoon.

The photo above are my latest projects, the top one in blue and the middle one are the same pattern from America, I say one thing about the Americans there are plenty of bead sites.

The one at the bottom is what I made on Tuesday at the workshop I went to in Scunthorpe at the Bead Cabin. I shall be over there again next Tuesday for another go at a workshop to make a Ladder Bracelet in twisted bugle's picture to follow.

Hi everyone, catching up now on my blog and sharing my happiness is a great feeling.

The above photo is one of my favourites it was the Nostalgia stall http://www.nostalgiabeads.com/

they deal in various types of beads, wires etc pop along and have a look.

The photo above are the 2 friends that came with me to the NEC, on the left is Jackie, Jackie has a wealth of knowledge all to do with crafts and is a brill helper and Jenny is on the right. Jenny is also a guider and gets ideas from us all to help the Guides, Jenny is also a member to the Embroiders Guild and is just starting to learn how to bead, I am teaching the craft group I go to.
The above photo is on a stall at the NEC that took my eye, it was full of handy bags and containers to keep beads, cross stitch, tools etc, it was the spotted one I liked. The whole day was fantastic, and fun, even though we got caught up in traffic coming back. We did not spend to much money!!!! which I must say makes a change. The next big event I am hoping to visit is actually here in Lincoln this July, we are going to have a craft fair on the showground, after that it shall be a trip to Harrogate, this time we are thinking of hiring a mini bus to go in instead of loads of cars.

Hi everyone, I am sorry that I have not been on for a while, I was hoping by this time I would have received some photos of my day teaching at my sister Lainey's place of work, the above photo is Lainey and my nephew Andrew, we nipped into Bogna Regis after visiting my mums grave at Chichester, it was a lovely warm day.

I can't call it working when I visited Lainey's place of work, it was FUN FUN, what a great day I had, arrived for 9.30am, got all set up with my machine and introduced to all the service users, what a lovely bunch they where. I had a shadow for the rest of the day his name was Paul, he was so interested in the machine and helped me all day. All the users decorated their bags, put their names on them so everyone was different. In total we made 20 bags, those that did not get finished I took back to Lainey's and finished them all off for them.

Paul who was my shadow was telling me that it was soon his birthday and was getting a new PSP!!! and did not have anything to keep it in so I made him his own case with his name on and wrapped it up for his birthday, I also brought him a card, normally if you are staff you are not allowed to buy or make them anything, but as I was a visitor it was ok.

I had my photo taken with each one and was hoping to have them sent to me but no luck, the smiles on their faces was brill, it was a pleasure doing what I did and have been asked if I would do it again, of course I said yes.

I had a lovely day on the Monday, I went sight seeing on my own, I visited HMS Victory and HMS Warrior, Portsmouth Cathedral (which I must declare I did not know was there)!!! how bad is that. The Mary Rose was closed off due to refurbishments going on, but I look at the museum which was great.

The photo's are Portsmouth Cathedral and the Stateroom on HMS Victory, I never get fed up visiting the Victory and Warrior, but I think my favourite is Warrior!!!!

Necklace

Hi everyone hope this finds you all well as it does me. Thank you for the lovely comments I do so enjoy reading them.

I have a good friend in Kelly how she puts up with me I dot know!!! that's years of friendship I reckon.

Well at last I have managed to take a photo of the necklace, but the picture does not do justice I think. I am pleased with it and the colours are shocking pink, a very pretty blue and black crystal beads!!!!

The large bead is glass and its pink and clear with lots of bubbles inside, and very heavy. I do so enjoy doing this type of thing.

From tomorrow I will not be on site as I am travelling down to Portsmouth to visit my sister for 5 days, I am also taking my sewing machine and I am going to teach my sisters charges how to make swimming bags, been busy cutting out 16 in total plus handles, we are then going to decorate them so they are just for them. Looking forward to that it should be fun. Lainey's (my sis) charges are all adults with learning disabilities, so it shall be challenging for me but different. More on that when I am back. You never know my nephew might allow me to use his laptop!!!

So for now I shall close oh and also off to collect my new car at 3pm, excited or what.

Well good evening my friends, I hope this finds you all well.

I have had a very long day, been up since 5am to go into work, but did not get much sleep last night, worrying about doing the cash office but it went well, the hard part is tomorrow!!! It stressed me out.

Came home and found my family all here, and what a greeting I received from Paige who is 18mths and Ben who shall be 6 next month where does the time go. I had brought them both a little pressie cause they have been good, Ben got a pushchair and doll and Paige got some Ben10 alien figures!!!!, Ben thought I was nutty giving him the dolly ha ha, they where made up. Paige kept giving dolly a biscuit, not often does she give her food away cause she loves eating!!! she will change that when she gets older. Ben is full off cold and has a Rudolf nose bless him.

Hubby Dave made tea tonight, chicken wrapped in parma ham stuffed with phillie cheese along with a salad, did not touch the side.

I am now sitting here with laptop whilst watching a film and having a cool drink of lemonade and fresh orange, lovely, the log burner is nice and hot, but no central heating on.

So my lovelies I shall close for the night my battery is getting low, so good night sweet dreams x

Today has been another cold day at work even though the sun was shining. In fact it was warmer at 5.45 this morning when I got up for work, even though there was a frost.

Today I was invited to my friend Tara's house for lunch because I was due at the dreaded dentist for a filling and check up.

Tara made me a slimming world curry called Kofta, it was lovely! We both go to slimming world, Tara has only been going 2 weeks and she is very competitive, and has turned it into a competition to see who can loose the quickest, I am not that type of person and so I laugh at her and her ways. Tara is good company and a good dose of salts if you are feeling down. People are surprised at our friendship as Tara is the same age as my oldest daughter!!! She says I am just like her mum in a lot of things which is a lovely compliment.

Oh the dentist went well next check up in 6 months.

The necklace is now finished so I shall get round to taking a photo this weekend, the colours that I have done it in are bright instead of the traditional colours of say black and red or gold and black, Glenda the tutor laughs at my colours but is surprised at the end result.

As I am writing this I am watching the second part of Emmerdale and the wedding ah its snowing!!! My daughter is drying her hair and trying to sort out a fancy dress for wearing to school tomorrow, she was dressing in army but has changed her mind again. Hubby is out at the golf range whacking some balls so all in all its peaceful.

Well what a lovely couple of days I have had. Yesterday I went over to Gainsbourough to get picked up to go to Scunthorpe to a beading class. Glenda the lady who runs it is brill, she showed us how to make a St Petersburg necklace, and I must say it is very pretty, I shall take a photo to show you all when it is finished. The lesson only cost £6.00 and that included all the beads, pattern and tea/coffee, it was for 2 hours but went on for 3.5hrs. We have all booked for another class in April.

Today I went again to Gainsborough for my normal afternoon craft class and found out that 2 more ladies would like to join the April class so phoned up Glenda to discover that she was in hospital having her Gall Bladder out she got rushed in last night bless her.

Well I now have a full car to go to the NEC on the 25th for the day so that is good, the ladies are all like minded on our crafts so that is good, its going to be an early start for me, but I do not mind.

Up here in Lincoln it has been freezing specially at work, I even had my jacket and gloves on, and everyone said it must be cold cause normally I don't wear a jacket let alone gloves, but the sun was shining so that helps.

Busy busy!

Well today has been a busy busy day. Firstly had to go into work for an hour for some training in the cash office ready for this weekend, then went back home and picked up hubby, decided to have breakfast out for a change, then up to one of my favourite shops, Dunhelm Mill as I forgot to get grey cotton to fix Gemma's trousers, whilst up there showed Dave the bedding set that I liked but he did not, chose a carpet for the front room to cover up the coal burns Dave has done on my new carpet!!!! and then Dave decided to look for new bedding for our room, and went for really feminine items, with flutterbys and flowers on it, then nipped to Maxine's for Dave to fix her outside tap cause it was leaking, then back home for a little while, had a quick cuppa and then back out to work again for a meeting.

Got back in at 6.30 cooked tea and dinner for tomorrow cause my friend is coming for lunch, I normally go there but SKY are coming to fix the box, as it keeps freezing. I was going to sew the heading tape on the curtains and cut out the linings for the caravan curtains, but my hip is playing up so been banned and told to sit down!!!!

I have also brought 2 more shelves for my work room as running out of space for my lovely boxes so Dave has promised to do them this week.

Just watching Pineapple Studios we like that in this house, they make us laugh. Its good to laugh, stops the wrinkles!!!

Well my lovelies that's about my day, just left to say have a lovely week at doing what you do and keep smiling.

Nutty day!

Well what a nutty day this has turned out to be. At work today everyone was in a great mood, it must be the sunshine. Customers where full of jokes and laughter for a change, I was in one of those moods as well. Firstly I could not pronounce my words, they all came out wrong, we call it a "Connieisim" here and everyone I work with know what I am like, but it made the customers laugh, anyone would have thought I was drunk!!! not had a drink for 18yrs.

Then went over to my craft afternoon and we are trying to arrange a days craft with a great teacher called Brenda Scarman, we are aiming for May so fingers crossed for that, that reminds me must e-mail Brenda next. I am also going to the NEC so going to offer anyone a lift with me as so far there is only Jackie and I going now in the car as my friends girl is off to her nans.

Going on a trip on the 18th March down to Pompy to visit my sister, she has also arranged with her work for me to go in and teach some sewing to her clients, they all have disabilities of different kinds and she thought it would be nice, so I am taking my sewing machine down and they are all going to make their own swimming bags. The home relies on donations from the public for materials etc, so I have a load of blackout lining that I am going to cut out ready, I am looking forward to the day I am spending with them, more on this when I get back.

This month is proving to be very busy on the sewing side, just been asked to make another roman blind for a friend at work, plus alter some curtains for the outlaw!! ready for our caravan being opened next week.

Thank you to everyone on their kind thoughts about Maxine's dog Jessie, I have passed them on to her.

Whats happened?

Well my goodness what has happened to my page!!! It is a mystery to me, Kelly help, I did try to put Kelly's button on my side bar but must have pressed the wrong button lol, this is me who does not know what to do.

My daughter Maxine had to put her dog Jessie down last week, poor Jessie lost 4kg over night and they discovered 2 tumours, one in her stomach and the other growing on the side of the ribs, she lost weight over night and it was a big shock and as she was not a young girl anymore the vets recommended putting her to sleep. Maxine is going to get another dog as soon as she can, as it is horrible going into her house and not being greeted by Jessie and the kiddies are missing her. They have decided to have a rescue boxer when one comes avail.

On the home front, all is warm, we had no shower for 12 days, so had to go to Maxines for a bath cause we don't have one, but the shower is now fixed, yippie, wonder what is next.

On the sewing front, my lady with the OCD keeps changing her mind about her curtains, I am running out of patience now!!! but shall keep trying to please her fingers crossed. I have also been busy making linings, shortening trousers and trying to make 2 baubles!

It has been a lovely warm day up here in Lincoln, the sun is shining, the crocus and snowdrops are out, everyone has a smile on their faces it is so nice to see. My 2 dogs are sleeping and I am watching Ben-Hur again for about the 1000th time, its a classic.

Warm and cozy

Hello everyone.

At last all warm and cozy here at home, it took nearly a week to get the new part for my boiler, British Gas are ace in my books.

On the home front I have been very very busy making curtains and blinds for a lady who has OCD, and is making it very hard work to complete things for her. She brought some Laura Ashley fabric for her front room, very lovely it is until you go to sew it together and nothing matches!!! then to top it all the first pair we hanged we found out that her floor is not level, so in places they hung lovely in other they where to long argh!!!! Then she brought a blind and it was very flimsy and she could not get it to hang properly so asked me to put in blackout linings and redo the whole thing again, why is it they they never go together the same.

We had a lovely dusting of snow the other day, it made everything look lovely for a while, I went outside to put some rubbish in the bin and ended up on my bum covered in snow and laughing my head off, I am afraid that is my sense of humour, would not be any help to anyone if it was them, too busy laughing!!!! Wicked or what.

I do not know where my time goes at the moment, what with work, looking after my granddaughter and raising funds for my friend Leah who lost the baby. On that note I would like to say we are nearing my target of £1000, one of the young lads at work is going to do the Lincoln 10km marathon and everyone has been sponsoring him, so far nearly £200 in sponsorship.

On a personal note I would like to say a HUGE BIG THANK YOU to Lucy of Lemonade Kitty for her lovely generosity love and kisses back to you.

My Internet provider has been taken over and I have been having trouble getting on line, apparently they need to upgrade the lines!!!! what that means I do not have a clue, they have said that it will take a little while to get things sorted, so if I am quiet you now know why.

Just a quick update, the gas man could not fix the boiler, has to order new parts!!!!, this boiler has been a thorn in my side since the day it was put in. Hopefully the parts that have been ordered will be here tomorrow, in time for him to come back.

Cold

Hi everyone

Well up here in sunny Lincoln at the moment, it is very very cold, and we keep having snow, and to top it all the bungalow is freezing!!!

I woke up at 5am getting ready to get out of bed at 5.30 to get ready for work, only to discover that the heating was not on, checked everything but to no avail could not get it going, so jumped back into bed for a little while.

Dave got up and tried to get it going, no chance it was saying, so Dave had to bank up the multi burner so that we had some heat. He then got in the little oil rad and had left that on all day so when I came home it was not cold, so I am sat here in the living room waiting on the gas board, hopefully not to long!!!!.

I have been busy sewing for a customer making all her curtains, Roman blinds and shortening some of the others so it has been very busy. At the weekend I also covered 6 dining chairs which looked lovely in the end. So for me it has been a busy week.

I have also been making Christmas Baubles again, I have had a few orders so it makes a welcome change.

Yippie the Gas Board is here, and it is the same fella that has been before and knows the boiler very well, cause it keeps breaking down, he is very nice about it, so I make him a coffee.

On a personal front, my friend that lost her little one is slowly getting back to normal, so at work I have be asking for help towards buying her a headstone, we are doing very well, nearly £600 collected, one one of our young lads is doing the Lincoln 10km run, and has volunteered to do it in her honour, so we are all sponsoring Adam, not many young men would do that, but it just shows that there are some lovely people in the world. My aim is to raise about £1000 for Phoebe's headstone. so it will take some of the pressure away from Leah and Leon.

Then there is my daughters Maxine and Gemma who are going to do the Race for Life here at Waddington Air base in May for me, so they have been busy collecting sponsors, it is a busy time for everyone, keeps us out of trouble ha ha.

Hi everyone

I would just like to say sorry for not being in contact these past few weeks, but things have not been good with me.

I did not get to see my friend Jan (Kelly's mum), as she was poorly with her knee, so we put it off, so I did not get to see Kelly, which was a shame, and did not get to celebrate my and Jan's birthday together.

On the home front I have been busy getting my business up and running and so far its going well.

Had an order for 4 Christmas Baubles, and I am pleased to say they are done, I have also been making blinds, curtains etc for a lovely lady who is about to come out of the forces, so its exciting here at the moment, so if I go quiet for a little while please bear this in mind but shall do my best to write.

Next month I am excited about as I am off to the NEC for the big stitching show, taking a couple of friends so it should be a good day out. And for the first time here in Lincoln, we are having the first bead fair at our showground, cant wait for that either.

I would like to take this oppertunity to say thank you for you kind words on the loss of Phoebe, it has meant a lot.

It has been a very stressful time this past couple of weeks, but I must move on, Phoebe has been laid to rest and is now a little Angle and I have some lovely memories of her.

First I would like to wish you all Happy New Year, and hope that things are going well for you all.

It is soon to be my birthday and I am hoping weather permitting that I shall be coming down to Jan's (Kelly's mum) on the 22nd of this month cause Jan's birthday is the day after mine and we do try to get together, plus my friend is laid up after having a knee op, so I can come and spoil her.

I have been busy with Christmas baubles, and now have 2 orders for 6 baubles and a phone case which will come to Jan's. Hopefully this shall be my year, I have also reduced my working hours at B & Q down to 25 so that now gives me more time at home.

I shall also be able to catch up on you all and have a good read this next week, I have to admit I have missed reading about you all.

Today my friends has been one of the most saddest days of my life, my friend Leah a new mum of only 4 weeks has lost her little baby girl Phoebe Poppy. I was asked to be a surrogate nanny for her as she is not in contact with her mum, of course I said yes and felt very honoured to be asked.

Phoebe was beautiful and dainty like her mum, we are all very upset here in Lincoln, it has put a damper on the festive season for us all.

I would just like to say that God has taken a beautiful young child to sit by his side for now and always.

Well hi everyone, its been a while, but I have not been doing nothing. In fact I have been very busy, I have made lots more baubles for friends and family, and finished making the baubles for Cancer Research, I have only 2 left at work to sell, so far I have made about £130 for this good cause, shall have to get my thinking head on for my next project.

I have now got my craft room up and running and all Christmasy as well, the tree is up and dressed, my decorations go back 32 years for some of them, and my angle is only 4" high and she is 30 years old, I have recovered her since then, but Gemma and Dave wont let me buy a new one, even thought she is lost on the tree, I shall take some photos and post them next time.

This year we are going to Maxines for Christmas day, and we are not having the traditional turkey we are having Indian, its all cooked and ready in the freezer, hubby is a brill cook so I have left it to them, really looking forward to it, I only have that day off work so shall make the most of it.

I have been catching up with old friends and new ones thru cards and the internet, it has been fun. I shall sign off now so till the next take care and have a lovely weekend.

Craft Room

Well my dear fellow bloggers, I must say how lovely it is when I go for a read on everyones site. Real inspriation reading about you all.

The other week I lost all my focus on things, so hubby did me a craft room (previously shown) and do you know what I am now never out of it. Once tea is over and I have watched Emmerdale, well thats it off I toddle into my room, switch on the radio, I listen to Smooth 106.6, its fantastic, it reaches over the country, and from 8pm its Andy Peables, and the music is so varied, 60's, 70's, Mowtown to name a few, he is on till midnight, and guess what I actually sat up last night making a new bauble till the midnight hour, it was fantastic lol.

I have got a thing about pretty boxes so this morning I went out with my granddaughter and friend Tara, and I picked up 3 different size boxes, black and pink, with flowers and flutterbys, they are scrummy, what I will put in the I don't know but they look lovely. Tara then cooked me lunch, poached salmon, new pots, baby sweetcorn and mange tout, with a lovely Herby sauce, nothing was left on my plate!!!! I do love fish as does Tara, but both partners are not that keen, fish and chips fine but anything more refined or different no chance. Next Tuesday the 2 of us are going to the new Japanese restaurant in town, so watch this space for the comments.

Today has been very enjoyable, I went to my craft afternoon and my niece Tina came and joined us for half and hour, Tina is going to Queens Medical (Nottingham) in January to train as a nurse and this was her chance to see everyone before she goes, so we spent a lovely afternoon with her.

Today I also learnt how to make a decoration out of material and a polystyrene ball, something I have wanted to learn for a while, it was easier than I thought, now all I have to do is buy some Christmas material and edgings and I shall be well away.

On the home front, I have not really been in a crafty mood until last night, when I managed to make a new bauble, in red and gold, its looking good, so now I am back focused, and my new craft room is so lovely to use, I don't have to pack things away when the grand kiddies come round, and can sit there till my hearts content. I light my candles and put on the radio so its heaven.

Sunday Night

Sunday night here in Lincoln has been very peaceful as has the day. It has rained and rained all day, but now it has cleared up for a while.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of my daughter Maxine and granddaughter Paige's company for the whole day. Hubby, son in law Mark and Ben went to watch footie at Northwich verse Lincoln City, it was Ben's first football match, he was so excited bless him, mind so where the 2 men.

Us 3 girls went into town for a look around and to have coffee, only brought some Christmas Cards, which I must say is good for me, and then we went for lunch at a place called Woodcocks, and the meal was delicious, Maxine treated me which was brill. Then back to Maxine's for a few hours. Bliss!!!

Today Dave and I again went to town, I needed some new shoes, but alas did not find what I wanted, but hubby brought my Christmas pressie, I had to disappear for a while so looked in PC World, and brought a idiots guide to Windows 7!!!!, then home and rest, mind we did get wet, it was fun as I love the rain, I know what your thinking 'She is mad'!!!!

So ll that remains is to wish everyone a lovely week either at home or at work

This is my Santa Stocking Swap from Cally , and what a beautiful collection Cally has sent me, I do hope you are all able to see. On the left is a little card called Christmas Cup of Kindness, and inside a tea bag, Yorkshire Tea mind,, my favourite, a very cute stocking, some hearts, a bag of roses, and a bag of beautiful beads, which I shall use on a special Christmas Bauble for myself in memory. A lovely little hat, a bow, and some Divine little buttons, I shall be hanging up the stocking etc here in my room and each time I look at them I shall think of my first swap and Cally. So all that remains for me to say Thank you Cally from the bottom of my heart.

Trip

My trip yesterday was fantastic, arrived at the Stitching and Knitting Show, Harrogate about 11ish, with my lovely hubby Dave, and what a day, loads and loads to see and watch, did not know where to look first. It has been about 6years since I last went there, and I was not disappointed.

I brought myself some goldwork and beads for myself, once they are made I shall post them on my site. Joined the Beadworkers Guild again, as I lost my membership, it was only £23 for the year, I received 3 mags which of course I have sat and read thru last nite, they are fantastic go and have a look at http://www.beadworkersguild.org.uk/ they have a lot of information that you can use if you are into beads.

On another note I have decided to try and get my City in Guilds in Goldwork and Beading, as it is a passion of mine, with a view to teaching at the end of it, as here in Lincoln there is not much for crafts.

Today Dave and I went to Staffordshire to the National Memorial Arboretum, what a place, so loved and well kept, its not just the forces there, its the Police, RNLI, the Co-Op to name a few. Dave has wanted to go for quiet sometime as there are a couple of friends names on the wall, it was very emotional, so if you have not already been pop over to Stafforshire and have a look or visit http://www.thenma.org.uk/, the scenery is beautiful.

Whilst I was there Lichfield is not far about 12 miles, so I got Dave to take me to the Spellboundbead Shop, what a treasure trove, beads coming out of my ears!!! and everything you could possibly need, again pop over and have a look at their site http://www.spellboundbead.co.uk/, the knowledge they have is second to none, and so helpful. I also met them at the show, and have brought from them for a couple of years and their on line service is fantastic.

On a personal note I would like to wish Dave a happy 54th birthday today, the day was his even buying beads from Spellbound lol for me to make into Christmas decorations, the colour orange and black!!!! Bless him.

I am off now to put the finishing touches on Cally's pressie for the Stocking Swop so that I can get them posted on Monday, so everyone have a lovely weekend.

Day out

Tomorrow I am really looking forward to, Harrogate, our big craft show of the year, this time in the town and not the Showground. Hubby is taking me which is a pleasant surprise, specially after the work he done for me in my room, which I must say I am loving it. Got the varnish today so shall get the last job finished on Friday.

Been over to my craft afternoon today which was a good afternoon, I had made a pattern up for the Christmas Baubles that I made and handed them out to the girls, they are the guinea pigs and one lady Linda followed it no problem, so that made my day.

I also had a talk with my tutor Brenda about teaching crafts to others and she has encouraged me to follow my heart, and pointed me in the right direction. I have decided to also try and do my City and Guilds in crafting so fingers crossed for me.

I have been on everyones blog site and there are some parts that make me smile, its a marvelous thing this site. I have been busy with my Santa Swop partner, Cally swopping addresses etc, ready for the parcel to go. Dont know what happened to my write up last night, it all looked good when I closed down but tonight what a mess, what am I doing wrong!!!!!

I have been thinking about flowers of all things today, been looking at my Orchid that I have grown on my kitchen window sill, and listing my favourites, they are Pansy's for their happy smiling faces, Freshias, for the perfume, Fushias, for the splendour of the bud and forgetmenot in memory of my mum. There are plenty more nut those stick out in my mind.

Work Room

Why hello everyone, sorry its been a while, but I am now geared up and ready to go.

Well here goes, my work room is now finished thanks to my lovely hubby, hope you enjoy the photos.
This is what my room looked like at the beginning of this morning, not much to look at!

The hubby Dave, just gearing up ready for the mamoth task ahead, got all the gear laid out in the hall, and ready steady go!!!

10 minutes into the job and its cuppa time, how do we manage without the great British drink?

Next its the legs for that work bench, not much more left to do!

And now the sorting out, what a lot of stuff I have and did not realise it.

Got some pretty boxes to keep bits in.

The final finish, under the long shelves, Dave put me some strip lights for the intricate work, and on the short shelves a smaller light, so now I am all lite up, cant say that I cant see anymore.

The short wall has my new printer/scanner/copier, the laptop and the wireless connection so everything is away neat and tidy, all thats left for me to do is stain the work bench a pine colour to match the other part of the bench which was a computer desk, minus the shelves and cupboard, re-cycling a number one priority, save where I can.

I hope that you have enjoyed my day in my craft room with my hubby at work, now I can get on with my crafts without disturbing the rest of the family. Oh! and I got a new chair as well.

Night out

Good evening my fellow bloggers. Well what have I to say tonight, I have left hubby Dave watching the F Word as he is a lover of Indian food, as am I, but I wanted to tell you all about my week so far.

Last night I went to the theatre here in Lincoln, its a lovely place, very old and desperate need of renovation, if I won the lottery that's what I would do. The place has a quaint feel to it, and I am told that there is a ghost, which I believe. Lincoln has plenty of them. I went and saw That will be the Day, which has now been going for 24 years and it is fantastic. Its all 50's, 60's and 70's music with comedy thrown in. I introduced my 2 friends Tara and Alex to it and hubby came 2, they really enjoyed the whole show and pleased that they went. Next year we shall all go again cause its the 25 year and they shall be celebrating.

As from tomorrow I shall be having a week away from work, and do I need it, I have so much sewing to do from altering curtains and putting in zips for friends, even doing some repairs for my craft tutor. In between that I shall be having my 2 grand kiddies to stop the night next week, that will be fun. Dave has promised me that he will build my work station and put up shelves so I shall have somewhere of my own to sit and craft, listen to my music and relax.

I have also been putting onto paper a design for a new Christmas bauble, I have taken pictures but cant down load them at the mo cause having trouble with my printer come scanner, there is a connection problem, can only happen to me. Not much cop with computers, printers etc, shall have to call on my daughter's help.

Next week Dave is also taking me to Harrogate to a knitting and stitching show, really looking forward to that, more news next week. All our shows for craft are either at Harrogate or Birmingham, so its a good day out.

Just a quickie

Just a quick note to say hi, I have had a busy week since the 4th where does the time go to. Last night the 6th, my daughter Maxine and I attended a ladies night in aid of Cancer Research, the total that we all raised was nearly £500 hundred pounds.

2 husbands kindly donated their backs for a wax, and between them raised £200, my they did look sore at the end, but what brave people, 1 husband dressed up in ladies clothes (all in pink) complete with a Marolyn Monroe hair style, it was nice that the gentlemen gave up their time for this worthy cause.

On another note I have got in touch with my swop partner Cally, and I am in the middle of sorting thru my stocking, this is so exciting as both of us are new to this.

Hi everyone, I am pleased to be back working on my new Laptop, it is exciting. I have got all my craft photos save to an external hard drive so it wont slow me down ha ha.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks getting things sorted out, and I am pleased also to say that I had a brilliant weekend with Jan and Martin Kelly's mum and dad. Jan calls me Conifer and I call her January, even Kelly calls me Conifer. I have also sent to Kelly her baubles, January loved hers, and I am busy making her some icicles for Kelly's old room in the colours of pale blue, clear and white, they do look nice so far, here is a photo of the baubles that I made them. The turquise ones are January's and the rose and white are Kelly's, I have to admit I do love making them, have had a break from the Cancer ones to make these but shall now get back to making some more.

One Wednesday, I shall be going to my craft afternoon, where I shall be showing a new lady how to make them, we started off last week on the icicle which is the easy one to do, its good fun. My husband Dave is now going to sort me out my craft room, I took down his shelves that he had up displaying his model vans!!! and stored them in a box ready to go up the attic, bearing in mind that I only live in a bungelo and dont have much room, to make way for my new shelves. I managed to get some lovely boxes at the week to store some of my stuff in they are red and black, my favourite colour is red so I was over the moon.

Tomorrow I shall be having a busy day, got to nip into Lincoln, have my flu injection, put 2 new zips in some trousers for a friend at work, so tomorrow will fly by. and then shorted a pair of curtains for another friend, where do I find the time!!!!

Hi everyone, sorry for not blogging these past few days, but this old computer is on its last legs, so I have had to borrow one till I get my new laptop on Tuesday. Its getting like me old and past it, lol, no really it has done me well had it for well over 15 yrs and one upgraed so its not done to bad.

After much deliberation I have decided to go with an idea from Kissed by an Angle for my Christmas theme so thank for that it was a great idea, the Rainbow as Peace was really interesting and I did not know about it, I mentioned it to my group and 3 of the ladies said that was fantastic.

At the moment I am busy down loading photos from my visit with Michele (friend of 40 yrs ago), I shall post a photo tomorrow when all sorted. It was a fantastic weekend and one that shall be repeated again and again. I am also down loading the caravan phots as I have also got them sorted so everyone can have a look.

Hi everyone, well I am a very happy lady today I have finished Jan's and Kelly Christmas baubles, and if I say so myself they are looking good, photos to follow but not Kelly's as it will spoil the surprise on her colour's!!!!

My youngest daughter Gemma is in love with a shop called Ruby Red, which she has on a few occasions dragged me up to have a look and I must say the clothing and jewelery and accessories are really scrummy, and I have found them on the net and made the mistake of telling Gemma here is the link to Ruby Red and see for yourselves if you like them or not. I am not lucky enough to wear the clothing as I am not a tiny lady any more ha ha, but Gemma is being only a size 8.

Tonight I am having a break from the Cancer baubles but instead making some crystal hangers for the windows, ready for a craft nite on the 19th Oct, its a few people getting together for a ladies nite, chance to get spoilt.

A new week

Good evening to you all. Well what a lovely weekend I have had, on Saturday Maxine and Paige came with me to the new Hobbycraft shop that was opening in Hull. We where 2 of the first 100 people through the door and guess what we received a goodie bag worth £20 plus some money token's off the shopping that we planned to do. I brought some Pearl number 5 cottons for my bags, some plastic canvas, some small cross stitch's (all christmas ones) and the cards for my sister Lainey, it was a lovely day, then we went and had some lunch and then home. in the afternoon Dave and I went to his brothers so that Dave could put up some new lights for them and we stayed for tea, at the same time I was busy finishing Jan's (Kelly's mum) mobile case.

Kelly has kindly asked for some photos of the bauble that I have been making, I shall be posting some once I get my camera back from my in laws as they have borrowed it to take some pics of the inside of our caravan, so once I have it back you shall see them.

Today I have had my grandaughter which I do every Monday to help out with nursary fees, they are expensive. We have had a lazy day, Paige fell asleep in the car to Asda so I went for a drive for one and half hours so that she could have a good sleep, she is teething so its keeping her awake (and her mum), called into one of my favourite shops Dunelm Mill and brought myself some little stork sissors they were a good buy at only £3.49, last time I got some they cost me £8.50, so I brought 2 lol.

At the moment I am busy making Jan 2 Christmas baubles, and then I shall do some for Kelly, and then back to the Cancer ones.

In a quandary

Well today I cant make my mind up what I really want to do!!!!

I am going to start making my friend Jan ( Kelly's) mum a mobile case out of the velvet, but its hard deciding what colour so I think I shall make it bright and cheerful. Then I am making some crystal hangers for my daughter Maxine, this came about last Friday, Max need a raffle prize and asked if I could knock something up in 10 mins, and hay presto I came up with the crystal with red beads, at bit of Christmas, and now Max wants a load more, and as they say the rest is history.

On the Cancer bauble side, I have so many orders coming out of my ears that I have asked a friend Sylvia, (who also makes bits and peices) to give me a hand as I taught her how to do them a couple of years ago, and guess what she said yes, relief I can tell you. Max has already sold 50 of the baubles and is still getting more orders in, poor B & Q where I work have not had a chance to sell them yet!! Still not to worry.

I have lent my camera to the in laws to take some inside photos of the caravan for me, so when I get it back I shall take some more photos and post them at a later date.

On the inspriation side, I have just had a wonderful hour with my friend Brenda who also happens to be a craft teacher and she has given me some things to make over the next couple of weeks, Brenda designs stuff for her classes and has no use for them now, so I am lucky.

Rite thats me for now till later folks enjoy the rest of the day and have a lovely weekend, just in case I dont get the chance later.

I am enjoying this very much and love reading about your days and inspriations.

Today I am not at work due to an illness I have, but the time is not wasted, I have been busy with my sewing making a new bag, I have also been making crystal hanging's for my daughter Maxine, as prizes for her candle party's, its the one thing that you can choose different coloured beads to make the decorations, and it adds different colours to your room.

Up here it's sunny Lincoln, been sat in the conservatory, with the 2 dogs enjoying it. Very blissfull.

Restful Sunday

Today was a lovely restful for day for me. My hubby invited my daughter, husband and grandkids for a full roast dinner, he cooked it beautifully.

Me I just sat and made the rest of the baubles for Maxine, just 2 more to go, and then I shall have a rest and make a bag for a friend.

I have also been maling plans to travel down south to Portsmouth to visit my sister Lainey for the weekend, I have got a large box full of craft bits because I have been teaching her how to do some bits, in order for her to teach the Service User's that she has at the home she works for, I shall also be going to visit my Aunt who lives near Aldershot. Whilst I am there I have also made arrangements to visit a very very old friend from when I was 9 years old and living in Barnard Castle, now there is one very pretty town. Sorry strayed away there, memories. Now this old friend contacted me thru a friend of my mums, they where reminiscing about the olden days ha ha, and she gave Michelle my address, and as they say the rest is history.

I shall let you all know how the weekend goes. Well that's it for today and would just like to say have a lovely week in what ever you all shall be doing.

Chaple St Leonards

At last I have managed to down loads the photo's of our caravan from my phone, what a nightmare, its a new phone and would not download onto the computer, so I had to Bluetooth to Gemma so she could download them for me :).

This is the peace and quiet that I have when I go away for a couple of days, my caravan is a Richmond 3 bed static, with all mod cons, home from home.

The view is lovely looking over fields that have Friesen cows, they are cream in colour and beautiful to look at. Also there are foxes running free, one even comes up to the van, plenty of birds, squirrels.

Dave and I visited a Heavy Horse home at Spilsby which is now far from us here is a picture of William he was so friendly you could do anything to him. At the home they do jousting, medieval days during the year.

Good evening ladies, it has been a very long day at work today, I was chatting to my friend Joanne about crafts today and we have both decided that we would love to finish work and set up on our own, Joanna's making her wonderful dresses and me doing my alterations etc, wishful thinking. Hi everyone, well today has been heaven for me, a short day at the land of B&Q!! then onto my craft afternoon, which I goto everyweek, it was sheer bliss, made a gold sparkle decoration for a friend for Christmas, it is made from Gutterman beads, gems, sewn onto a sieve, with a donut to give it depth, I will publish a photo when fully finished for all to see.

On top of this I have been asked to make a ruched velvet bag for Halloween in turquoise velvet, which I had specially dyed for my friend Jo who makes the medieval dresses, so looking forward to getting that done for her, plus I have found a site near to my home where I can get glass baubles, so going to place an order so that I can make Kelly's mum 2, in between I still have the Cancer baubles to do, so for the next month my fingers will be worn out, yippee.

On the home front I have persuaded my hubby to build me a work top in my little craft room as I love sitting in here doing my crafts and listening to music! bliss :) x NO TV lol

Hay ho I am back from the land of Chaple St Leonards, on the glorious east coast, after having a lovely few days away with my crafts, and goodness was I busy.

My lovely daughter Maxine decided to let all her friends at work know about the baubles that I have been making for Cancer Research, well I got a call to say she needed 36 yes 36 for her friends, so my fingers where busy busy, I am pleased to anounce that I have completed them and they are ready to be taken to Maxine today.

Hi everyone, this is just to say that I shall be away for the next 5 days on holiday at "Sunny Chapel St Leonards" which on the coast about 1 hour's drive, its on the outskirts from Skegness!!! Its a lovely quiet place, ideal for thinking, reading, resting or the best Crafting.

I shall be busy making Christmas Baubles for Cancer Research and selling them to friends and family, I try each year to do something to raise money for this worthy cause, owing to the fact I am a ex sufferer 7 years now, and still going strong, it takes more than Cancer to beat me as Kelly knows.

When I get back I shall post some pics of the baubles for you all to see, and hopefully you will think they are nice.

A nice surprise

Well what can I say, had a pleasant surprise when I got home today, some velvet I had ordered a little while ago that I have specially tie dyed arrives ahead of schedule and the colours are gorgeous. The lovely lady that dye's them lives in the beautiful county of Norfolk, in a village called Gooderstone. The velvet is really scrumptious and soft and the colours Sandra has done for me are lovely. Sandra has even dyed one in a turquoise colour for a special bag that I am going to make for a friend Joanne who takes part in re-enactments, Joanne also makes her own outfits to suit the period they are doing. Tomorrow Joanne is off to Bath on a Jane Austin weekend and again has made hers and her husbands outfit, well hello Mr Darcey, I am envious !!!!

Well I have had fun today, decided to treat myself to a new mobile phone, found the one I wanted its a Samsung Tocco and its in pink,but can't find a picture in the colour
Then tonight had a lesson in editing my site and adding pictures, links, did not know it was this much fun to do!

My daughters dog Ezme (a miniature Jack Russel) was playing with a huge spider in the living room earlier and rolling over it, she has had us in bits, and now she has locked herself in the bathroom and is crying ah!!!

I'm in the stages of making a scissor keep case in ruched velvet for a friend of mine. This type of needlework is one of my passions.

Here is a photo of 2 that I have already made from tie dyed velvet and Swarovski beads.

I have several orders for these at the moment, as well as the mobile phone cases I make.

Good job I enjoy making them so much!

Things are looking up, next week I am hopefully going to a social evening where I will have the chance to exhibit my various crafts that I make, along with my daughter who does Partylite candles.

My day today was busy at work, mind I was wishing that I was sat at home enjoying the sun and sewing, heaven!!

Craft day

Well what a fantastic day I have had, not been to work but a craft day with a fantastic tutor called Brenda Scarman, who has been taught by Tracy Franklin. Brenda is part of the Embroider's Guild here in Lincoln. Today we did a tulip in goldwork, when its finished I shall post it on to see what you think.

Here's a picture of some gold work by Tracy Franklin who is a world renowned teacher in the UK. I hope that mine will be as brilliant as Tracy's with more practice!!

Had a busy day with my granddaughter aged 2 and then grandson aged 5, they are really good and I had lots of fun playing!!

Having a candle party tonight. My daughter is a Partylite rep, and i get roped into having parties for her practice.

The candles are scrummy you could eat them.

Had a busy few minutes sorting my craft boxes!!!! There are plenty of them!

I've also been making a mobile phone case for a birthday gift, it's looking good, I'm really pleased with it.

I'm charging the camera up at the moment so cant show you but here is a picture of some wedding handbags I have made in a similar way

They are made by hand using a ruched velvet and beading technique and I really enjoy doing it! Well I'd better be off, the mobile phone cases aren't going to make themselves!

Today I went to visit a friend who fell over and broke her shoulder on the last day of her hols. She wasn't even drunk bless her! In a lot of pain but still laughing!

This weekend we went to visit some old friends in Essex. After meeting about 20 years ago on holiday in Italy, we became friends instantly and within a week were friends for life!

We had a brill time as always!

While there my friend's daughter was telling me about her blog and how she had met some great, like minded people as a result. sounds good to me! She suggested, knowing how crazy I am about needlecraft and lace making, that I might like to start my own blog as there would be others like me that would share their ideas and opinions. No time like the present, we fired up the computer and here I am!

I wish to thank Kelly for all her help yesterday setting me up. Thank you x
